What you’re getting here isn’t an interpretation or a “tribute” build.

These Black Label Tele pickups by ToneSpec are built using the same methods, materials, and approach that defined the originals.

Same feel. Same response. Without paying $1500 to get there.

What is 50/60 Telecaster Tone?

Virgil Arlo 50/60 Telecaster tone refers to a magical voice from the early 50s Esquire/Broadcaster/Nocaster bridge pickups, combining the oversized, fat response of early pre-Telecaster bridges with the clarity and warmth of mid-60s Tele neck pickups.

It has the clarity and snap players expect from a Tele, but with a bigger, fuller bridge response and a smoother, more open neck that keeps the tone musical and never harsh. Notes stay articulate, chords remain defined, and the top end cuts through without ever becoming shrill or weak.

This is the tone players gravitate toward when they want a Tele that feels powerful and alive, but still refined enough to stay smooth and balanced across every position.

Its about balance. The way a note speaks with authority, carries warmth, and cuts through with confidence without losing control.

50/60 Telecaster Specifications

DC Resistance - Vintage Range
Our fattest sounding bridge thanks to pre-Tele (before 1952) methods. The bridge delivers a fuller, more powerful response with strong midrange presence, while the neck (wound to 60s specs) remains clear, warm, and open without losing definition.

Magnet Type - Proprietary Alnico
Proprietary Alnico magnets crafted to deliver the dynamics of Alnico 5s and warmth/compression of Alnico 2s. The result is a pickup that feels, sounds and responds like a perfectly balanced vintage set.

Matched Set Calibration
Each set is calibrated so the neck and bridge work together as a system. Output, magnet strength, and coil balance are adjusted to ensure consistent response and smooth transition between positions.
